Hi guys. Well I'm starting a course in Chemical and Pharmaceutical science in GMIT thios september and I was just wondering if anyone knows what book and equiptment well be needing for the course. Hopefully some of you have done this course before. I made an absolute balls of college last year as I had no idea how much of an undertaking it would be. Funds, expenses etc... So this year Id like to prep as soon as possible...
    Any help is much appreciated!
    Thanks.
    Danny...

It's a few years since I did the course but as I recall we only needed four books: a physics one, biology one and two chemistry ones but they come in a pack together. Check the noticeboards around the science corridors for 2nd years selling theirs - I got both phys and bio secondhand and they were perfect then sold them on again in a year. You'll need to buy a lab coat and safety glasses (legal requirements for any lab) and a particular calculator that they sell in the SU shop. It's not a scam - it's so everyone has the same one so lecturers can tell you exactly which buttons to press to calculate your results! Other than that it's just the usual college stuff.

.... maybe a pipette filler if you're doing chem cos it's handy to have your own one - SU shop again.

Hope this helps :) Ask anything else ya want to know.
