Dublin speed bumps/raised sections that are crumbling away

Many streets/roads in Dublin have raised sections at junctions (and possibly also speed bumps?) that are made from a reddish gravelly substance that is "crumbling" away very badly indeed in lots of cases, I'm sure far faster than would be considered normal. Will try to get a photo.

Did Dublin City Council mess up in mixing the material, or did a supplier provide substandard material? Either way, I guess we will foot the bill to fix them... that's if they are fixed.

The sustained freezing temps back in nov / dec wont have helped. It's not just these raised parts though, a lot of roads are still buckled from the cold spell previous to that over a year ago. As a motorcyclist I notice middle of the lane buckling in particular which happened after the first thaw last year. I assume they wont be fixed any time soon as the country is bankrupt.

This happened to the utterly pointless raised fake brick section on junctions through Straffan. KCC replaced them with the exact same... expecting next winter to eat the new ones now!

The one on Parnell Street is a real joke at this stage.

It's far larger than the one pictured as it covers the whole junction. If the council can't maintain these they should remove them.
