I'm starting to put an acoustic set list together. Just myself on guitar and vocals.

I need some advice on how to get gigs once I have reasonable set together.

Typical set list will include the likes of The Coronas, Mumford and Sons, Oasis, Greenday, The Script and so on . . .

    Hi,

Nothing beats getting into your car and calling to all the pubs you know that play live music. Get a business card made, most publicans won't book you there and then and will ask you for a card. If you dont have one they will write it on a piece of paper and when you're gone...throw it in the bin. Go in cheap for your first gig, it willl help you get your foot in the door. BTW, as important as having your songs well rehearsed, is making sure you have a good PA.

    Good luck.

Probably a piece of string question, but what's 'cheap'.. also, is there any point in putting anything other than a phone number on a bus card? MySpace, youtube etc?

Will they not need to know how good you are before considering a gig, regardless of how good your business card may look?! Maybe a demo CD?
