Car wars ( nation vs nation )

    Ok not really...
    Just out of boredom maybe we could get a debate going on which country is truly the most car mad.

    Clearly Ireland is about the very bottom of the list, I reckon the poor folk of Cambodia would have more affection for cars than us.

    I've thought about this a lot. The Germans clearly are car nuts, the French seem keen to. The Italians are obviously truly besotted by cars as are the Japanese and Yanks but to be fair I think our neighbours across the pond who have the greatest understanding and love for cars ( and bikes ).

    They have a stack of brands through history ( their governments and unions fooked it all up ). They still probably have more independent car brands than any other nation.
    They look after the cars they have better than just about any other nation.
    They have invented the idea of track days so the ordinary punter car go trash the crap outta his jammer.
    Despite the fact they are ripped off by the car companies they spend a huge amount on new cars every year - it's almost solely due to their buying power RHD cars are developed at all ( I suspect )

    anyway - thats my case for the UK, any takers for one of the others ?
