    Hi,
First off, i'll admit i know very little about engines/cars. Please be nice.
I recently got the battery replaced on my 1.4 LX 07 Ford Focus. (Passive Key Car)
Since then when i leave the car overnight and try to start it in the morning or if the temperature drops below freezing overnight more often than not the car needs a jump to get it going again. It'l be fine for the rest of the day but it will happen again the next day. I bought one of them portable jump start kits, but its becomming a pain in the backside.
Brought it up to garage, the tested the battery and said it was fine. They told me to drive it. But its been 2 weeks now and its still happening.
Can anyone shed any light? Is it something simple i could try fix myself.

    Thanks
    I.P

I don't think the battery is your problem. It is most likely a problem with the alternator drive belt being loose, the alternator itself being faulty or the battery management system. If the belt is ok, you need to get the alternator 'charging rate' checked.

If it was the alternator not charging the battery correctly the alternator light would be illuminated. If the belt was slipping it would make noise. I reckon you might have a current drain or the battery is not healthy. An auto electrician is your best bet.

I'd be inclined to agree wit rover James. It is either something draining the battery over night or else the battery you got has too low an amp rating

If i remember correctly this fault is related to the Passive Key system
draining the battery.....maybe Contact your local ford dealer and see if there was a recall on the Passive Key system....I think the full unit will need replacment...:(

hi i.p i have had the same problem with my 07 focus (keyless entry) the car has been back to ford eight times to try and fix this problem but the battery is still dead if the car is left any longer than ten hours. they have replaced the ecu ,battery ,locks , steering column , ignition , and had the car reprogrammed three times but the battery is still dead most mornings. as soon as the warranty was up they didnt want to know about it. have heard about this problem from other people all with keyless entry models. fords response is a joke! i will never buy another ford again!
