not sure if this is the right forum, but im desperately looking for advice about buying a suit. i find buying online saves quite a bit of money on certain stuff, and i was wondering if clothing could be added to it? which websites should i check out? i dont even know where to start tbh.

Looking for a mens suit, i can work out the sizes and post here if necessary?
cheap as possible, without looking tacky.
has to be delivered before 29th March..... (have i left it too late?)

also, any opinions on colour? is white/coloured a big no no?

FWIW, im going to a fancy dess masquerade Ball, but i want to be able to use this again for anything else that might pop up. that said, im not against renting? can you rent suits online?

    thanks for any/all advice!

You can't go wrong with m&S for guys suits. They're not all that expensive (for a suit) and they have a tailor I think that you can get stuff altered there. I think you might be pushing it to buy a suit online and be sure of it fitting right for 2 weeks.

For a ball of any kind though, you're going to want black tie, which doesn't lend itself to being used every day, but is useful to have for most guys. Again, m&s do a good range of cheap & machine washable tuxes.

i would steer clear of a white suit if you want to wear it again, it's a TAD cheesy. perhaps a nice deep navy would be nice and could be dressed up with a mask for a masquerade ball....

Anyway, here's a link to m&s (it's the UK store, can't seem to find equivalent Irish online, but it'll give you a gist) suits under £100. linky

depending on how 'fancy dress' it is, you could always get a black suit/tux, white shirt, white bow tie and find a 'phantom of the opera' mask, and try and get something like this going on-

When you say "use it again", what would you envisage the occasion being?

    Wedding?
    Graduation?
    Funeral?
    Job Interview?
    etc.?
