Q x 2: joining friends & flak jacket pro

Just 2 quick questions:

1 Flak jacket pro: what does it do exactly - i thought it was meant to make you invulnerable to fire, yet i still get burned by napalm?


2 I find it very hard to join mates games - either server is full or game no loger available, sometimes it takes half an hour to play together, we play for a while, loose connection to the lobby and it takes another half an hour to join again. We are using join the lobby or invite a friend options.

Am I missing something, is there some easier way?

1. Flak Jacket Pro gives you two abilites on top of the non-pro abilities. When you toss back frag grenades the timer is reset, ie you can cook it before you throw back. Secondly the Napalm damage is severly reduced to 5% of the normal damage. You can still die to one if you're heavily damaged and run into one. I'm pretty sure it kilsl you if you run into your own.

2. What's your NAT type? Are all of your friends on Open NAT? If it's strict for either of you it can make forming and playing with a party near impossible at times. To play with friends it's easier to use the party option, lobbys can be full hence the "server full" error.

Fair enough, but if we create a party, can other people (strangers) join?

Get the party host to press select and change party privacy from Open to either Closed (nobody can enter) or Invite only.

Anyone that is not on ur friends list can't join,

Anyone that is on ur friends list an ya don't want them there the host just has to click on their name in the party lobby and select kick player an they are gone,

Party are easier than just tryin randomly to join session, especially if there is a few of ya...

Can you not join session under the recently met players list?

No theres only an option to send them a invite and only then can a stranger, not in your friends list, join your party

thanks a lot, got the parties figured out now.


As for the flak jacket...

Half way through my second prestige and i only realised now that i actually have to buy the upgrade as opposed to perks uprading automatically like in mw2.

Maybe I should stick to Mario karts
