Tool for Torx head chainring bolts

I will be replacing the 34 tooth chainring on my Ultegra chainset (Shimano FC-6650 50/34) this week. The chainring bolts have a 6 point star shaped recess in the head which I am told is a T30 Torx head. I have been trying to source a T30 Torx key/wrench to remove and reinstall the bolts, but cannot find one. Tried about 6 bike shops in Dublin today. Can get one from CRC or Wiggle but need it this week.

Any suggestions.

I got mine in a hardware shop. Woodies probably has them with the drill bits.

you can get screwdriver heads sets in argos for about €10 which will have torx in the set. If you have an socket wrench with adapter they should work for you...

Yup. Got a great set of torx head keys last year in a little hardware/junk shop on Camden street.

Buy quality tools if you can, less chance of rounding the bolt

It's 5mm you need. If youre in Dublin, Mc Quillan Tools on Capel St is a good place to go

If all else fails Halfords have them but like most things in Halfords they're expensive.

I've a set if you're in Dublin (think you are midweek) and want to borrow them. Has ratchet tool also. Basically it's a socket set.

Pretty much any motor factors or engineer supply place will have Torx stuff too, they're a very common thing these days.

Oh, and I agreed with the advice to get a good quality tool; poorly made/inferior material tools WILL damage the fitting, and damaged Torx stuff is a right sod to deal with.
