Tooth Extraction and Alcohol

Quick question.... I'm having a tooth removed at 11.15am tomorrow. The tooth had a huge abscess on my gum, which is now pretty small to non existent thankfully! I just had a glass of wine with dinner before realising I'm getting the tooth out tomorrow. Is this a bad thing? Will I be ok? Do I need to put off the extraction for a while?

Alcohol consumption ( especially the tiny amount you describe) will cause no problems with an extraction.....if you try a bit harder you might find a better excuse to put it off ;)

Hehe.. I'm not worried about the extraction at all. :) I might even have another glass, just to em... help me sleep. Thanks. :o

So I just got my tooth out... there was an abscess on each root. He had to cut into the bone too. How much pain should I expect to be in? The extraction was less than an hour ago and I'm already feeling pain. I didn't think it would be for another few hours.

    Neurofen plus is helping!

So I fell asleep for a couple of hours and woke up with no pain at all. 8 hours after the extraction. Sweet! I got lucky I guess. There was some minor pain prior to going to sleep.

I'm no expert of course, but if you were prescribed antibiotics after the extraction then easy on the sauce for the duration of the course.

I was just on them leading up to the extraction. Not on them anymore thankfully. Cheers, though. :)
