Just in case anyone didn't know, The Tour De Picnic is happening again this year and registration opens tomorrow

    http://www.electricpicnic.ie/2wheelstourdepicnic
If you missed the 2Wheels Tour de Picnic for Temple Street last year you missed out but thankfully this incredible fundraising event is back again for 2011. This clever challenge combines a fantastic feel-good 80km cycle with Irelands best outdoor Music and Arts Festival, the Electric Picnic.

The best bit of all though is the vital funds which this challenge helps raise for Temple Street Children’s University Hospital. In 2010 our cyclists raised over a quarter of a million for the children of Temple Street!

The Tour de Picnic is THE most enjoyable way to get to the Electric Picnic. On the 2nd September 1,000 cyclists of all ages, abilities (and musical tastes!) will depart from Dublin on the 2Wheels Tour de Picnic challenge to the Electric Picnic.

Participants will be asked to fundraise a minimum amount for the challenge and in return will be given a precious and much sought-after weekend ticket to the 2011 festival upon completing their cycling Challenge. This exclusive event is limited to 1000 people. If this sounds like it’s right up your street then please get in touch now as places book up quickly. To apply for a place please log on to www.tourdepicnic.ie to download a registration form.

Whether you cycle to work or for fun, or haven’t been on a bike since you were 12…it’s time to get festival fit. Join the thousands of people who have been hooked by the cycling bug. It’s healthy, economic, environmentally friendly and most of all it’s a fun way to help support sick and injured children in Ireland! Love Music, Love Temple Street this September.

This was good craic last year, although I would've preferred a DMS over a handicap. :p But the atmosphere was fantastic on the way down, and the weekend was lovely, right up until it started bucketing on Sunday evening. Although I wouldn't use a €2,000 bike to do it, considering they're all left out in a field for the weekend, secure but exposed.
