Tuition Fees taxback

    Hello!

I study part-time and normally around this time of year submit my tuition fees taxback form along with my P60 and get some tax back pretty sharpish.

However, I've just been told I'm to be made redundant next month. Should I apply for tax on tuition fees when that time comes with my P45, or before and as I normally would? Would this be done the same way? On the revenue site it says nothing about having to include your P60 with this form, but I learnt from experience (when I just sent a receipt along with the form) that it was needed. Also, if I'm also to send in a P50 form, should that be seperate?

I do HOPE to find employment again as I only study part-time. Apologies if what I'm saying here isn't too clear; I'm COMPLETELY clueless on tax issues.

    Thanks for any help! :-)

Im guessing your talking about the fees u paid for last years tuition starting in say sept 2010? If so your p60 and receipt for last year would be dealt with seperately to any redundancy u have in this present year. So go ahead and apply as u normally have been doing for last years repayment.
The p50 is a claim for repayment of taxes paid while u are unemployed if indeed u have paid any up to the date of getting laid off. U must also wait around 8 weeks after getting laid off to submit this with said p45 to allow a build up of credits against tax paid so u can receive a refund.
    Hope this helps
