Hi. I'm thinking of heading overseas in search of work. I'm just wondering what would be the situation with my job seekers payment? Would it be instantly cut? Any info appreciated

Looking at this, it seems that Jobseeker's Benefit can be claimed in such circumstances. But, if you're on JA, looks like its not an option.

If you are in receipt of jobseekers benefit you can apply to have your benefit transfered to another EU country. You have to give one months notice and have and address in the "host" country and have to sign on in the "host" country within a week of being there. You also have to have a bank account in Ireland for your JSB to be paid into or else a cheque will be sent to the address you provided for the "host" country. Bear in mind this can take some time for the money to come through and will be only paid for 78 days. Hope this is of help.

If you are in receipt of Jobseekers Allowance you cannot transfer this payment.
