im sure this has been asked a million times and yes i have read up as much of the advice as i can , lots of it is greek 2 me at the moment

    my question is this....

the home brew beer starter kits with the bottles from the home brew center ( priced around 85 euro ) are they any good ? if you did buy one what else would you buy with it ? what kit would be closest to stella / Belgian beer ?
i have been toying with the idea of home brew for years and now i think its time 2 give it a lash :D

and most important if you do it all correct does it still taste like beer ???
last HB i had was the devils piss  dont want that again

    thanks in advance

I can't see everything that's in there, but it looks fairly complete. For €85 it would want to be.

You can't make pale lager at home without serious temperature control gear. The "lager kits" are actually blonde ales and mostly not very good. I recommend going with the stout or IPA if you're picking a Coopers kit. Homebrew Centre has a few of the Brewferm Belgian kits, The Homebrew Company has even more.

Yes, as long as you're not expecting yellow fizz of the sort they sell in most pubs. Ignore the kit instructions, follow this instead, ask lots of questions and you can make great beers.

The coopers starter kit is what the missus got me for christmas and i haven't looked back. the coopers heritage lager is pretty good in my opinion. Anyway u'll always have the bottles, fermenter hydrometer etc that will never go astray if u step it up to all grain
