Ah sh1t it turns out after all that with the Boardman that my company is using this crowd:

    http://www.bike2work.ie/

And Halfords isnt supported by them :(

So now I have to go to my LBS now and the one Im using says he can get me anything from the following:

Trek, Dawes, Falcon, Viking, Planet, Jupiter.

So I need help again, I need the best roadbike in the €750-850 range (full retail price) from them, just want peoples opinions basically, Im very tempted to just go into Halfords and buy the Boardman and feck the scheme, I dont know what tax bracket Im in yet but Im worried I might only get 20% off, but I have a couple of weeks to make up my mind so Im going to see if theres anything better from the others first, any help much appreciated.

Right, looking around I dont see any Treks or others that really compete with the Boardman in that price range and seeing as Im only getting 20% off anyway and the Boardmans are already 20% off on the Halfords website I think im just going to bite the bullet and get the bike I want instead of getting a heavier one and wondering what might have been, if halfords is open on Paddies day Ill be buying it then, does anyone have any recommendations for a Trek or anything else that I might have missed in the meantime?

I was reading cycling plus bike of the year supplement yesterday. The price range was £1000-2000stg and most of them weighed about 8.5kgs.

The minimum you will save using the bike to work scheme is 28%. If even a euro of your salary is in the higher tax bracket you'll save 51%. Also the quality of the aftersales service is something to take into account. If you can find a local bike shop who deals in Felt then the F95 is quite a good bike for your budget. Also the Trek 1.2 is a lovely bike. I was lifting one today and it's as light as you need and a lovely looking bike.

    Hmmm, dilemma.

But I really want the Boardman now, Id only be wondering if it would have been just a tiny bit better when Im climbing a hill on the Trek, Im just going to go for it, I can always upgrade in a few years, I should be in the higher tax bracket next year.
