Vauxhalls tend to be worth a bit less than their Opel equivilants despite being the exact same car. Think the asking price is a bit high when you consider that and what these Opel versions are asking:

I agree you would definitely get an Opel for the same price
Depending on your address it would be easier to Service

You see im looking for a black 3 door astra with low mileage...Its a bit specific but thats what id like.Do you see any out there that fit that range

This one would have been perfect but look at the outrageous price!

theres a broken tail light and they are about 50e to fix..

What do all of ye think of this deal?

How do i check both the uk and irish history for the car as well?

Just saw this car as well..

Its in kildare and has high enough mileage for a 07.This might be down to high commuter miles to work maybe though.

60k miles is not really high for a 4 year old petrol car. They could have at least washed the car when taking the photos. Might give you a clue as to how the car was/wasn't maintained though. ;)

There was a thread here yesterday mentioning buying an avensis and the OP had a very clean looking 07 in their signature. Was dark blue though.

What mileage do you conside normal? 56k miles is not high for a 5 year old petrol car, in fact the average for a petrol is 12k miles per year so it is just under average. Anyway mileage is never an accurate indication of use.

Its less than 4 and a half years and at that count, its higher than 12k miles per year..
I dont live in dublin so i was wondering is kildare usually a commuter tower to dublin city?

4.5 years or 5 years isn't really much of a difference in this case to be honest. My point is that someone who does 10k miles a year could drive the nuts out of a car and never get it serviced whereas someone else who does 20k miles a year may take better care of their car and have it serviced every year. Alot of people associate low mileage cars with less use meaning better buy which isn't always the case.

BTW Kildare town is used to commute to and from work in Dublin, it is almost a 70 miles round trip but nearly all motorway/dual carriage way. Quite a common commute I would imagine.

I was talking to the guy in kildare now..sounds good.Hes the only owner of the car as well, just theres one set back...
It is/was on finance.I rang him last night about it,and he was saying he took out a loan to get the car.He told me theres 4 or 5 k outstanding. He told me he would call me back today and he did.He said he would let it go for 6700 and that he paid of finance today. What do all of ye make of this and that price its not too bad i suppose.

If the car checks out and you agree to buy it then go with him to the finance company and get an offical statement to the effect of that the finance is settled in full and that they no longer have any claim to the vehicle.

I dont know how ill make the time to do this.Im living down in cork.Banks are only open on weekdays.I just started a new job so i wont get time off.

Could he not have multiple loans with different companies for the same car.He could then prove to me he paid off one load but not the other?

well you can get a check done on the car and it will tell you if any finance is still owed ,just wait a few days till after he said it was paid off for the money to clear
