    Hi all,

How much can I expect to pay to have permanent bonded retainers fitted behind both my bottom and top teeth?

Your orthodontist will usually do it for free after the braces come off.

    Hi,

Thanks for answering. I'm having the six-month braces and the dentist is charging €300 for the fixed retainers at the end of the treatment.

I'm just wondering if I could get them done cheaper elsewhere.

Lian, if you have it done somewhere else and your teeth later move, the orthodontist may advise you that the retainer was inadequate to retain the teeth positions.

Let me guess you went to the cheapest dentist for 6 month braces too and bonded retainers were not included ;)

    See LOW BALLING

Good point. I think ill just stick to my own orthodontist just in case there are any future problems.

    Thanks for the input!

Good guess! Bonded retainers aren't included, but those clear essix type ones are. I'm just too impatient to endure them for another three months.

I went for one of the most reputable dentists for six month braces, saved myself a couple of grand in orthodontist fees & about a yr and a half of brace wearing. Delighted with my teeth too. They're beautiful now

    My
    I'm delight

I am glad that you are happy with the result so far. I wasnt aware of a hierarchy of providers of 6 month braces or that one was more reputable than another

Lian ask for a refund...... calculating from your 22/7/10 post your treatment was 7 months.
