Has anyone here done the Independent College summer course in preparing for the October FE-1's? Would you recommend them to someone coming straight form a non-Law degree??

What are people's opinions on the best preparatory course?

Thanks and apologies if this has been discussed before.

Depends on the subjects you're doing really. I did Contract, Criminal, Equity(which they say to do first) and Property.

Found Val Corbett and Ciaran Patton brilliant for contract and criminal respectively
Found the equity lecturer OK yet Ciaran Patton does teach it later in the week so he would be a better option if possible(His tips were spot on). Though equity is quite straightforward

I found the property lecturer and manual very poor, a common opinion upon the students-not detailed and majority of cases were footnotes, requiring you to look them up from other resources

All round I was happy, and passed all four so I would recommend it for those subjects, although I cant comment on the other subjects(although Val Corbett does teach Tort as well so good sign)

A lot of students had no law background, so this is wont hinder you, hope this helps and best of luck if you decide to take the exams
