Of all the fancied horses at the meeting who is the one that you would be laying.

(try not to debate other peoples choices just put down your lay and why)

My pick will be Menorah. I think he was a fortunate winner of the supreme last year (Dunguib was poorly ridden) and his 2 runs this season have been against last seasons and this seasons novices. He has not been tested enought to warrant his price at the head of the market.

    Master Minded.

Absolutely no reason why he should reverse form with Big Zeb from last year. In fact, he came into last year's Cheltenham Festival with a better prep.

    Finian's Rainbow.

Back him in Newbury. Not Prestbury Park.

    Cue Card

Very layable price. Bumper horses don't do as well as they maybe should in the race. His defeat to Menorah showed he found little or nothing off the bridal and may lack pace, certainly a turn of foot. Great cruising speed but in a race with lots of unexposed horses he has to be layed.

Ruby Walsh top jockey think he's around 6/4 or 7/4.

Paul Nicholls to be top trainer PP had a special on him at 2/1 yesterday.

Both look awlful value to me.

Grand Crus. Stand out bismarck at the bulls**te price of a farcical 9/4. he's up against a horse unbeaten in over 2 years who has consistently hammered the like of Karabak, Diamond Harry, time for rupert to name a few. Grand crus has a rating of 158, Big bucks 174. So he's to make up 16lbs after winning 2 what has to be said moderate races. He's never faced oppossition like this.
This reminds me of the bookies rumour mills when they stick in some schmuck in boxing against Lennox Lewis and hype the bejaysus out of him knowing full well he'd do well to beat Frankie Barrett never mind Frankie Bruno.:)

Grand Crus has improved 48lbs this season, Pipe said that the horse has improved alot since his last run. One of the horses he beat this season(For Non Stop) could win the Coral Cup which will be a good pointer.

hurricane fly..unknown entity in england could be a superstar or a flop going for the latter

Long run... as post on other thread left handed tracks

Ground could be quick enough so Master Minded

Kauto looks a decent value place lay on Friday as I'd say he could easily start 2nd fav on the back of sentimental cash (and bookies who need no excuse to shorten certain horses)

The real classy ones aint going to do it this year-

    Master Minded.

Time for Rupert in the SA Chase. Trading around 2-1 in a 3 mile championship novice chase at the festival is way too short for him. This is Cheltenham where every horse is trying.

Another vote for Hurricane Fly here (although i see a bet of €75k at 4/1 on sportlinglife.com )

He's been hunting around in small fields with no pace for 3 years, cruising up and putting races to bed in strides - racing over undulations at hell for leather Champion Hurdle pace will be alien to him

I don't want to be a pedant, but for a horse to be a Bismark, it has to be fav.

Does it actually have to be favourite? I'd say a short price and in 1st 2/3 in the betting.

To be fair anyone who has posted has put up a favourite or 2nd favourite. EG Menorah was favourite when i put him up but went off 2nd favourite.

Grand Crus, Big Zeb, Rupert. They're my Bismarcks. I can't explain the Big Zeb one, I've just got a feeling it won't win.

edit: Better do a treble on the 3 of them, just in case, to save me from embarrassment:o works out @51/1

    sorry to be boring

Barry “The Bismark” Dennis is an on-course bookmaker. His “Bismarks” are horses that he believes that other bookmakers have mispriced. He accordingly offers those horses at better odds. He is not offering up horses to lay on the betting exchanges

Kalahari King, have never seen why he is rated highly by some. Definitely one of the most over-rated horses for me at this festival.

4th in a Supreme Novices, Second in an Arkle, 3rd in a Champion Chase.

Definitly NOT one of the most overrated horses at Cheltenham

Arkle was the only performance where he looked threatening imo, 3rd and 4th hold little weight when beaten by 10 lengths, granted he was badly hampered in the CC iirc. We will see tomorrow anyway if he justifies being a 3/4 to 1 shot, I think he is over-rated and based on recent performances he should be more than his price.
