    Currently, where can you source the best deal (North or South of the Border)for a (70,000 mile) service for a BMW 520d (2008)?

    depends on what needs doing?
    your car has CBS (condition Based Servicing), so it should be telling you on the dash and in the iDrive menu what exactly needs doing.

    There is no such thing as a specific 70k service for your car. They don't require servicing at fixed intervals, i.e every 10k or 1 year etc.
    The service display on your idrive will tell you if any service items are due/overdue and when these are being serviced there are some standard checks that get carried out at the same time(suspension, disks, general diagnostic etc)
