Handlebars issue - feel tight

    Hi there,

Put on a new set of handlebars over the weekend. All good except I can feel a slight resistence to the wheel turning left/right.

Might it have something to do with overtightening the connection at the top of the fork tube? I had removed the stem and tightened everything up afterwards.

Any ideas appreciated. Im guessing Im better off with it overly tight than too loose!

Sounds like you've overtightened the headset.

Tighten the headset before you do the stem bolts. Only tighten enough so that when you bounce the front end off the ground there is no rattle, and no side to side resistance. Then do the stem bolts up.

Thanks Lumen. Will give that a try this evening. Case closed!
