What kind of background do You have? I had this interview and they told me that I have interesting experience, bla bla but they are looking for someone with more mechanical exp.

They were asking me about servo motors, what will I do if for example machine will stop, or quality will be not sufficient etc. There were also questions about different parts of processing machines (injection moulding) - what they are, what they do and things like that. Some questions from pneumatic field as well.

I worked there (not in processing though). Let me tell ye that they expect all prospective employees to be all rounders. It's not good enough to be simply a process technician. They're very much in to process technicians multi-tasking. And be prepared for the corporate mumbo jumbo about how "J&J is the finest company in the world", yawn.

Downtime on their process lines is a no no.
Quality has to be maintained at all times.
You'll probably need to have an understanding of finance as well for the role.Their corporate target was to produce 2 billion lenses per year (2010).

Not to put you off but there are easier places to work in.

I failed on the second interview , so better prepare - one of my friends had questions from pneumatics for example (basics_ . I got - as I said servo motors, machine parts, how everything works (explanation).

    Good luck !

Is the process technician job the same or different from a general operative, as in do they take on process technicians and general operatives or are the process technicians the general operatives?
