Do local newspapers print a list of people who received speeding tickets? Sorry if this is a stupid question but someone told me that the drogheda independent does this and to be honest - it sounds all a bit 1960s...

Perhaps if it went to court or something.

Not true but they may print if someone was in court for non payment of a speeding ticket.

How would a newspaper find out who got speeding tickets?
The gards aren't going to tell them.

Most local papers print the court cases and fines/sentences handed out every week though, thats a common thing around the country. So in theory if someone was in court for speeding(not paying the fine on time/contesting the ticket) then that would be in the paper.

If this was true, we'd have the priests calling out the names of people who didn't give to the collection as happened years ago :D

What is a bylaw - that newspapers are obliged by law to publish the names of people convicted in the local courts? If that's what you mean then that is complete BS. Newspapers don't have to specifically report anything.
