    Hello to one and all.
Tell me i had my laptop robbed and guess what, the cops dont seem to care which too be honest i understand as it aint crime of the century.
But Too me it is and i have a idea who may of took it.
What i want to know is there a way to track it, say if they connect it to the net. I have a password but im sure they get around that.
Its a Dell i was wondering can it be tracked through mac address or network card would there be a big fee if it can.
Ok i know its not the end of the world but still if there a way to catch the BxxxARD id like to know.

I don't know if there is a way that you can track it using serial and mac address unless you can physically touch it...
Unless it was chipped or software was put on it BEFORE it was stolen..

For future Reference. I know this may be of no use to you now :( unfortunately, but you could in future try http://www.firefound.com/

    or http://www.mylaptopgps.com/

    or many similar hardware/software alternatives..

    EDIT: - Look at this - http://www.mylaptopgps.com/toolate.php

I reported this straight away to the cops and Dell,
From Dell I received the following email

Thank you for contacting Dell Online Customer Service.

I understand your concern, and I am truly sorry for all the inconvenience caused.

Thank you for your cooperation and we have sent a mail to the internal department with the information provided by you.

We can flag the system as stolen . If someone calls requesting service on the system, we will attempt to get the name and phone number of the caller and will contact the investigator assigned to the case.

    Never heard from Dell again

Now,I also blocked the vodafone mobile internet simcard and a few days later I received monthly bill. The thief used my simcard to make a few phone calls and the best part of it was that he rang NCT office and recorded him/herself.
So I brought the copy of the bill straight way to the nearest Garda Station but unfortunately never heard from anyone again:(
