As said above, no links to devices that hold game images.
These are still owned by the copyright holders, as a result they are illegal.
Talk about flashcarts by all means but not these types of devices.
I'm sure if you must you can find websites to find out more about the things you want to know about.

Well my GBA-SP is model no. AGS-001. Now I don't know if there's any differences between the GBA-SP models specifically but I've never had one problem with any of my Gameboys ever and the SP is no different.

You can get games for the GBA-SP pretty cheaply and flash karts are available for them.
You should definitly get a GBA-SP as they are brilliant and will play Gameboy and GB Colour games aswell.

The model AGS-101 has the fancy backlit screen instead of the front lit one on most SP's. Think Gameboy micro screen but bigger! They were released late in the SP's life (possibly after the micro came out) and are a bit hard to come by and as a result still pricey enough but if you can find one do get it as from what I believe the screen is gorgeous on them. I've only ever seen american ones too so not sure if they were sold in other regions.

    Didn't know that thanks.
*I've pretty much seen all there is to see about the SP PAL model and I've not seen one with a backlit screen as I would have been all over that like a cheap Italian suit:pac:

    * seeing really is believing!!

After a quick youtube it would appear that there was a European version but I'd say very very few exist.

Also screen comparison for anyone interested:

Have you seen mustard prices these days?!?!

Have you seen mustard prices these days?!?!

Yeah but you don't have to read the ingredients when buying it, to ensure certain proteins were used unlike consoles & their damned different variations :D

    You are so right.
All these varients of consoles will give me a headache.
Regardless I need one immediately they look sweet and would be awesome for games like Gunstar heroes

    taken from wiki

    Backlit Model (AGS-101)
Packaging for the European AGS-101 model, in the colour "Surf Blue".In September 2005, around the time of the Game Boy Micro's release, Nintendo released an improved version of the Game Boy Advance SP in North America, featuring a brighter backlit screen instead of the previous version's frontlit screen. The new model can be distinguished by the following features:

The box states "Now with a BRIGHTER backlit screen!" to distinguish the new model from the older, frontlit models.
The backlit SP has the Model Number AGS-101 on the label on the bottom of the unit, whereas the original frontlit SP has the Model Number AGS-001[8]
The switch at the top center of the consoles lower face is now referred to in the manual as the "Brightness Switch" and selects between two levels of brightness, "Normal"(Low) and "Bright"(High) with no off setting. On the frontlit models this switch turned the frontlight on or off only. With the backlight set to "Normal"(Low) the brightness still surpasses the original AGS-001 with the frontlight on.
The North American backlit version comes in three standard colors: "Pearl Blue", "Pearl Pink" and "Graphite" (a grayer version of Onyx Black). There were also two Toys "R" Us exclusive backlit models; a "SpongeBob SquarePants" model[9] and a "Limited Edition Pikachu" model.

In 2006 the AGS-101 backlit model also saw a very limited release in Europe.[10] Few models made it to market, likely due to the release of the Game Boy Advance-compatible Nintendo DS one year prior. The European version was released in "Surf Blue"[11] as well as re-issued "Pink" and "Tribal" editions.

Unlike the North American release the European box does not feature any prominent text to distinguish the backlit models from the older frontlit models. In addition, only the "Surf Blue" color was unique to the AGS-101, the other two colors "Pink" and "Tribal" had already been released as frontlit models - for these reasons it can be very difficult to identify a European backlit SP. Apart from the AGS-101 model number on the base of the unit, the only other obvious distinguishing feature of the European backlit model is the large picture of the Game Boy Advance SP featured on the front of the box. (The European frontlit models of "Pink" and "Tribal" only feature small pictures of the Game Boy Advance SP on the sides of the box and Flower/Tattoo patterns on the front respectively.)

So far the European AGS-101 model has only been reported in Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and Spain so it may not have been released in all European countries

There aren't any...rare mustards are there? Or even prototype mustards which were never released?

Its just dawned on me there that all of our GBA-SPs' are obselete now and shall never be played again as I'd be ashamed to look at its dull screen knowing what glory is available out there:(

Yeah, but when you buy mustard in a jar, it's mustard in a jar. Or are there consolish concerns like, "Ooh, that's the mustard that was packed in 2007 with the ceramic additive in the glass jar...its mad rare & I own three of them! However, there was mustard packed in 2008 with magnetic iron filings used in the construction of the lid, & I need one of them, even though its still mustard in a jar" :D If those concerns exist, I'll move onto toothpaste.

Toothpaste has issues too. Is it baking soda or a non baking soda product?. Lots of different packaging, some of them metallic...then there are the flavours...and the colours.

I think I may just start collecting something that grows naturally, say, I dunno, leaves?

Again though, baking soda based is baking soda based. Not like GBA SP's, it turns out my pride & joy boxed Tribal edition is now a poor sad edition front lit shmuk  And for that, Im bitter. Long live mustard!!

You haven't lived until you've tried backlit baking soda toothpaste. It really lights up your smile.

I've been feeling that way about my SP for a good while now, ignorance is bliss unfortunately! Interestingly from reading chiptune forums there's a bunch of people that dislike the updated SP since they can't be ripped apart to harvest the frontlights for gameboy colour mods. Every now and then they accidently buy one for pennies and actually consider themselves ripped off!

Saw that alright, you think he would show a picture of the underside showing the model number though. Case looks pretty scuffed too.

Indeed, the pic looks very...front lit. It's prob just a stock photo though? Still, genuine pics are always good.
