PGCE Interviews

    Hi

    I recently found out that I am going to be invited for an interview in the university I applied to to do Chemistry teaching in England next year. Just wondering does anyone have any advice with regard to preparation for these interviews??

    Also Im wondering does anyone know where I can get a copy of the GCSE science and A level chemistry syllabi??

    I interviewed for two PGCE's one in Liverpool Hope and one in University of Ulster, both were very tough but very different so it really does depend on the university you've applied to. Liverpool focused more on the qualities they are looking for in a teacher rather than subject knowledge and UU really focused on my subject knowledge and what I'd bring to teaching that subject, which is history so can't help you out on the chemistry or science questions.

    The system in the UK is very different to Ireland so I'd go over that, understand what is meant by Key Stage 3. GCSE and A Level syllabi change depending on what exam board a school uses it's the KS3 one that is common to every school.

    I got accepted to both but picked UU and I am loving it, I wish you all the luck in the world! Hope this has helped....
