Paddy Power Deposit - Paypal Question - Help!

I am trying to deposit money via Paypal
I have €50 in my Paypal account
I am trying to deposit €100
I thought this would work like this
1) use the €50 existing balance
2) take €50 from my credit card
However it is trying to take the full €100 from my Credit Card
Does anyone know why it happens this way?
Is there any way to get it to use the 50 quid that is already sitting in Paypal
