    foreheadtittaes:
    Rebecca Black — Friday
I think it’s interesting that almost everybody is focusing on the nasal autotune and her theatrical pronunciation of the word ‘Friday’ when the lyrics of this song conveys so much about the human struggle. For instance, when she says, “Gotta make my mind up: which seat can I take?” she is acknowledging the fact that she has a choice — that she, like the rest of humankind, is condemned to be free. Is she going to take the front seat or the back seat? Is she going to get into the car at all? I see choosing the front seat as a metaphor for choosing spontaneity over stability; you get a better view of your surroundings by being in the front seat. But it comes with a cost — for in order to see, in order to be a revolutionary, you must let your defences down. If the driver loses control of the car and runs into a brick wall, you get hit first.
In the end, Rebecca chooses the back seat. This is surprising because in Western culture we have a tendency to romanticize spontaneity and other “right brain” characteristics (even though the left brain-right brain theory is pseudoscientific) and condemn order as necessary, but ultimately stifling. Express yourself! Rely on your intuition! Be a free-spirit! I appreciate that the choices (spontaneity, stability, and not getting into the car at all) were presented as equally valid in this video. There is no objectively ‘right’ choice because there is no objectively right way to be.

the future of music? Whatever lady gaga puts out next. She sadly sets the trends for years to come.

Even if you guys dont like rock/metal you should go out and try to support it so new bands can come in etc.

I dont want this ****ty pop music around anymore. Bar the exceptions, music today is nothing short of disgracefull and being made worse with tv shows like xfactor etc.

I'm not sure where you are going with this OP, but AHs is not the correct forum for your thread.
