Heading to England next week for a few days and have a HTC Desire phone on bill pay. What are the charges like for using the net on the phone? Had a look on the O2 website but nothing on it really.

Would I be better off just turning off the mobile internet to stop automatic updating of e-mails, facebook etc. Don't wanna be hit with an extortionate bill when I get home!

On billpay, the daily charges are:
€4.96 per megabyte, for the first 4MB
Any data from 4MB up to 50MB is "free" (in other words, €19.84 for up to 50MB)
    Above 50MB, it's €4.96 per megabyte again.

    From [here].
