    Hi,

I have a Ford Focus-Petrol engine which is due a service, should I go to Ford again or would any garage do as good a job? Ennis/Limerick area. (Trying to save some money)

And also at what mileage should a timing belt be changed? First time.

    Thanks :)

Would this be any good to you? It looks a bit basic but might be worth ringing about http://www.lyonsoflimerick.com/limerick-service-offer-!229228!253032-special_offers.aspx

Petrol? Diesel? Information relating to servicing, timing belts etc is solely dependant on the exact engine you have so not posting those details means you don't get a simple answer.

Anyway, if its a 1.6 petrol then the timing belt is due every 160,000kms or 8 years.

If its the 1.6 diesel then its due at 200,000kms/10 years.

Correct servicing can be done by any competant mechanic.

Why did you post this in the DIY section as a matter of interest :) ? You obviously have no intention of DIYing the service.

I would recommend Cavanaghs of Charleville! They are top notch!

I wouldn't bother going to a main dealer, there's no need and you'll pay considerably more than an independent mechanic!
For things I can't fix myself I bring my car to Mike Sheehan in RS Auto in Clondrinagh, just on on the way out of limerick heading for ennis! There is another indy mechanic down behind the old O'Maras Toyota dealer on the Ennis Road who are supposed to be very good aswell!
You wouldn't consider giving it a shot yourself, nothing to difficult and if you got stuck there's plenty of lads here willing to give advice!
