I suppose this would be for the student here mostly, but does anyone know where abouts would be a good place to start looking for full time Summer work? Where usually starts hiring around May or so?

    Thanks in advance :pac:

    Skilled or unskilled?

You might be lucky and get a job in a shop somewhere. Don't even bother with shops that are advertising in newspapers etc. They will be heavily subscribed.

Blitz every retail unit with a CV in a five mile radius. Doesn't matter if they aren't advertising. Try to get talking to a manager. I have always got a job with this method, which I call the 'Drive yourself demented and lose all self respect in the process technique'.

Good advice! OP, I'm a student and have been looking for part time work now since the beginning of February but having absolutely no luck. I hit a lot of retail stores back in February but to be fair this was probably the worst month of the year to be looking for a job in a shop. One thing I keep hearing however is once Paddy's Day is over, things apparently begin to pick up as the tourist season begins. Some shops may begin hiring very soon for summer staff so I'd get hunting now and don't wait until summer when all of the other students will be doing the same. I've my reading week this week so I am gonna hit town again and revisit every shop with a new CV. Its been frustrating as hell job hunting over the past few weeks but hopefully things will pick up very soon.

    Best of luck!!
