    Hi guys,

Just wondering are there any pools that are pretty deep in Dublin that are open to the public?

I just want to practice a bit of ear equalising etc etc

    Thanks.

The 50m pool is 2.2m and the diving/water polo pool is 5m deep. Should be plenty for you.
Most pools are no deeper than 2m

Glenalbyn 33m pool is pretty deep at one end. Not exactly sure but deep enough for the ears to go funny if u get near the bottom!

Yes, Glenalbyn in Stillorgan is deep at one end (about 3 to 3.5 metres).

As a general rule of thumb, pools built before the 1990s tend to have deep ends of 2 to 3 metres whilst the more modern, recent pools tend to have a uniform shallow depth throughout.

So if looking for pools with deep ends, look for the older pools.

The pool at guinnesses is about 3- 4 m deep if I recall correctly. Though I'm not sure if its still open, I haven't swam competitively in a long time.

As an interesting end note, I was swimming in a competition there when I was about 12 and managed to break and dislocate my elbow when I hit the wall at the finish.
