A lot of MSc biotech/neuropharm were in with me in the biotech in final year and even a little in 3rd year. You'd want to have an understanding of chemistry and biology and naturally biochem. I really dont know if you'd be able for it without even Leaving cert bio/chem.

I just finished 3rd year biotech, had pharmacology this year and I think we had the masters class in the lectures. I study neural development in my own time also. It is a very hard subject and requires a good understanding of chemistry and biochemistry. TBH I think you will struggle without a good knowledge in chemistry especially. It's all about functional groups and biological signalling.
