    Hello

How much does it cost for tax and insurance for MRK4 1.9 golf estate,

I am thinking of buying up the(UK) North. (the co2 thing is misleading)

is there much savings if I bought 1.6? Diesel.

thanking you for any advice given.

Watch out for TDI or SDI

SDI has no turbo and is slower than the 1.4 hatchback variant. Insurance should be less for SDI because theres less power. When I was looking for a 1.4 some 1.9's were advertised as 1.9 Diesel and You'd assume it's a TDI but it's not.

Tax will be on the engine size based system because the car is pre 2008 so 1.9 will be circa €600 per year. VRT will be based on emmissions irrespective of the year.

Nobody here can tell you what insurance will be because there are too many variables involved that insurance companies take into account. You will have to ring them all for the best quote.
