Ferolli Boiler Wont Fill Up

Last week my shower broke and it was pumping out hot water. I panicked and thought the boiler drain cock was just a lever to stop the water. My boiler pressure dropped to 0.38 and will not fill up when I open the heating system cock (which worked after the freezing weather a couple of months ago).
After talking to a friend he told me it may be airlocked. I'm useless when it comes to DIY and this is my first time living away from home.
Can anybody tell me if the boiler needs to be bled and if so, how do I go about it?
