    Following a meeting with the Clubs and Societies Finance Committee this afternoon, where the new plan for the Journalism Society and a new college paper was proposed, we have been given a deadline for content which must be presented to the college for final approval. We will be meeting on Monday to discuss this and other related news at 5pm in F30 (usual room on Main Campus behind Spar). PLEASE attend. PLEASE contribute by Friday. :)

    A short summary;
    - We are closer now then ever to launching a new college paper, independent from WITSU and fully financed.
    - We need to get all the content ready and present it to WIT before proceeding any further.
    - We need the content ready for Wednesday but will take it up until Friday lunchtime at the very latest. Earlier the better.
    - Editorial will be strict, but not petty. Common sense applies when reporting any news and all articles are subject to final say by the Editors and Editorial Board from WIT.
    - Meeting THIS Monday, 14th of March 2011 at 5:30pm in F30 (That's just behind the Spar) for further discussion.

    Clubs & Socs -- submit your news!
    WIT -- feel free to write for the paper! :)

    Contributions/Articles send to;

    kevin[at]witpolsoc[dot]ie

    :)

    Who is creating/designing the publication?

    As it stands, its outsourced to a professional designer with the aim of the new design being similar to NUIG/UCC. Its a bit hard to get design students because of college work/assignments/experience effecting the turnaround times but its something that is being actively looked into before the end of the year for next years publications. I think a meeting will be organised with some design students next week through a lecturer.

    It will be printed in the Munster Express Print House.

    Looks like I was too late for the name suggestions, oh well...but they could be weekly column headings for a review, editorial or just plain campus ongoings

    I thought I was too late for the actual paper name suggestion. If I was,(getting to your question ;)) maybe they could be headings for columns within the paper....like Upcoming Events - "Off The Vine" or "The 411". "Blaa, bla and blah" would be just random info, etc. Just brainstorming as I am bored while the other half studies for his exams!

    Interested in writing for The Campus Times, for publication at the beginning of Semester 1? Let us know, we are looking at having a publication out at the start of the new college year. :) New writers always welcome!
