    hi,
I am looking for something different as a christening gift for my Goddaughter born in Jan. Had thought about the coin set from the central bank, etc and this got me thinking that it'd be nice if the gift was an investment that may be worth something when she is older. Anyone have any ideas of investment type gifts (budget €50, don't expect that she'll retire off it or anything;))

or any ideas for nice gifts to comemerate the year of birth(2011)

A nice bottle of wine could be worth a few euro in years to come if not open at her 21st

The central bank do a "baby" coin set, it has a compartment where you can put her first lock of hair, baby photos etc. However new coin sets from the central bank which are of high mintage and purchased at retail will not be a good investment. But this would still make a nice gift, not sure how much they are 20-25 euro? So you could always get her something else too.

thanks for the replies, hadn't considered wine, That'd be great even to keep til she's 21 and give it to her then, would you like to suggest what'd be a good wine, it'd have to be 2011 so maybe you can't even get them yet-clueless???

had seen the baby coin set, but they don't describe it very well on central bank website, sounds a lot nicer from what you've said. not sure though as her other godparent works in banking, they may get double!

maybe consider a nice bottle of grahams port, traditional for buying at birth to be opened when 21 as it takes so long to mature.
