Choosing a good GBB (Gas Blow Blowback)

Well the title says it all really, but I've been looking around for a good GGB pistol that will last me for quite some time.
I've been looking mainly at USPs both the KSC USP.45 and the KWA USP Compact (System 7). If anybody owns one or has good experience with either model I'd like to hear your feedback about it.
Another question, if there's any other GBB that anyone would like to recommend, like the M1911 or Glock etc?

    Thanks in advance,
    D.B.

    Tokyo Marui 1911 MEU:

I've tried quite a few gbb pistols and I have still to find anything better than the MEU.

FYI - I've owned a KWA USP Compact (first pistol in fact) - and it was hit and miss. I own a KSC USP .45 and it's a good pistol, but not a patch on the MEU.
I've also tried the following (none of which match the tokyo marui pistols in general or the MEU specifically):
    KJW Sig 226 (only ok)
Maruzen p99 (fantastic features, perfect copy of the real steel - completely useless in a skirmish)
KWA M9 (hated it - but that was a hatred of m9s rather than KWA in retrospect)
Army 1911 MEU (fantastic externals - clone of the Marui - but nowhere near the performance of the Marui pistols).

So - after a year of messing about - I can safely say that Marui pistols have always been the best performers for me. The only pistol I've tried that matched (and possibly bettered) the Marui MEU is the new Marui PX4

I myself have the KWA USP compact and I really do love it, with the new system 7 its fairly good on gas for a pistol with a metal slide.

Haven't had any problems with it but when I bought it the shop owner filed something down as this batch had a small problem.

The range is fairly decent, I've seen better, but from such a small pistol its nice.

Well thats just my 2c anyway, you should think about a co2 pistol as well, cos of Ireland's crappy weather :p

I might consider the TM 1911 MEU after reading the reviews I've seen and the price which its at, around my price range :D I personally do like TM guns alot. Can't really go wrong with them.
I haven't heard of this, it looks the business from seeing on Google :P Seems quite small.... but size doesn't matter...;)

I forgot to mention about Co2 in the first post! Thanks for reminding.
Friends of mine both got pistols (the make and model escape me at the moment) the first skirmish, from what I heard, one I leaked or didn't fire as it was too cold.
I think Co2 is better to have then?

My KJ Works CO2 Colt M1911A1 is a fantastic pistol. I have had it almost 2 years and, yes, I have had some part replacement issues (barrel bushings x 3), but overall it is my go-to pistol.

You will get a couple of mags out of one capsule, shoots consistantly 310+ FPS (but within legal limits) and the thumping blowback make it a really nice pistol to have. That and the  look you get on peoples faces when they hear and feel it fire for the first time. I know a few people who got them based on firing mine.

And hats off to Defenderdude for getting me hooked on them in the first place.:D

yep i agree the px 4 rocks but all maruis rock as far as i am concerned.
I own the tm px4,meu,hicapa 5.1,detonics and the tm socom non blow back which has the best range out of all of them. i think though asking whats the best pistol is a pretty bogus question, its like asking whats the best abnd in the world or best football team? its completely subjective, one mans steps is another mans stooges.

I've owned over 15 pistols, TM Desert Eagle, KSC Glock 23f, KSC 1911a1 and KJW m9 all were trouble free.

I had issues with an Army 1911 and a WE Luger.

OP, Co2 is good for cold weather - and as Tommy mentioned the consistency of them is fantastic. That's one of the main reasons I switched to using Co2 in my GBB rifles.

But ... and it's a big but ... the only real co2 stuff I've seen readily available here in Ireland comes from KJW and to be honest I'm not a huge fan. Nothing specifically bad about them - just nowhere near the accuracy of marui pistols. That said, on a cold winter day your marui will be firing pretty weak and suffering from cool down with each shot - whereas a co2 pistol will still be going strong - so I guess accuracy counts for sod all if you can't actually fire the gun!

Still - having tried most - I'm happy to stick to my meu. It'll be sitting in the serpa as I leg it around Senny in a few weeks. I'm sure Tommy will be carrying his co2 pistol as well - though as he'll be playing as a 'civilian' he will probably be hiding it somewhere uncomfortable...:D
