Smarter Planet Comes to You - Dublin City University

    Hi all

    Just a short note to let you know about an event taking place 15th March at Dublin City University that I thought you might like to learn more about or even participate during the event. As part of the ‘Smarter Planet Comes to You’ programme, a tour of 12 countries and 24 universities throughout Europe designed to fuel discussion around IBM’s Smarter Planet initiative and educate students and faculty members on the range of tools and ventures designed to support learning and academia, the week starting 14th of March we will be heading to universities in York, Dublin,Exeter and Swansea.

    At each stage of the journey we’ll be holding expert panel debates and hosting lectures with senior faculty members. We’ll also have our “Skills Truck” parked on campus. The truck is fitted out with a range of multimedia equipment and software to showcase IBM’s latest software and technology, including our serious simulation games – CityOne and Innov8. It will also allow you to explore some of the free tools IBM provide to the academic community, to IT professionals around the world and to students (e.g. developerWorks and Academic Initiative).
