Painting on glass - advice needed

    Hi,
I do a lot of window-painting (for Christmas etc) but it's always on the inside, and normal acrylic does the job fine. I have a new commission, though, which is to be painted on the outside of the window of a Spar shop.
Does anyone know what type of paint I should use? Obviously it would have to be some way weatherproof - of course, vandalproof would be nice too but might be a bit much to ask for.
    Thanks in advance
    Brian

Thanks, might look into sourcing some kind of varnish-type coating to protect it. Used to do that on outdoor murals, it might do the job

acrylic glaze is great. ive used it on wall cartoons i did in kids rooms but havent tried it outdoors. seems very strong though - i used 2/3 coats

Why not use glass paint? Vitrail and other solvent-based brands are the most durable although you can also get water-based brands (e.g. Vitrea 160 from Pebeo). I would recommend applying a UV varnish as well, otherwise the colours fade very quickly in sunlight.
If you prefer an opaque finish (glass paints are usually translucent), you could use ceramic paint or enamel paint.

Thanks - probably going to go for an opaque look, so either the enamel paint or an acrylic glaze will probably do the job.
