Dreadful reception of the commercial DAB multiplex here in Newtownabbey today. I assume this is because the Colinward Mountain transmitter (near Ballyclare) is off air ?

Who do I report this situation to ?

You can report it to Ulstercom the site landlords on 0844 54 8770 if there is still a problem.

Was told by Ofcom to report it to BBC engineering which apparently handle all such matters (even the commercial DAB mulitiplexes, strangely).

I duly reported the matter to BBC engineering (the assistant I spoke to hadn't a clue what I was talking about), and, as happens in Murphey's law, it came back on a few minutes later. I suspect they may have been doing some work since as it seems a bit stronger than it was before.

It also highlifghts why Colinward Mountain is essential to listeners throughout Newtownabbey. Reception from Black Mountain was terrible, only a weak burbly signal upstairs and nothing at all in the downstairs rooms of my house. Far, far worse than Divis was before Carnmoney Hill came on line. The commercial network really does need to be expanded in NI, lack of stations aside.

Thanks for the telephone number anyway !
