    Hi

I am travelling down to Clare from Dublin and wanted to stop somewhere near limerick for an early morning game of golf. Can anybody recommend somewhere good. We will be in Quin in Clare and I see Dromoland Castle is only 10 minutes away. If anyone has any other suggestions I would be glad to hear them

    Thanks

    LarMan

dromoland is 2.5 hrs from dublin so you must be planning an early start for your "early morning game"

good course, can be wet this time of year though

roscrea course is meant to be ok, just off the m7 and bout an hr less journey time

adare is of course about 30 mins off your track west of limerick but worth considering

Nenagh is a nice course and handles the weather very well

    +1 for nenagh.

Mountrath also. Castletroy if you want to be that bit closer to Clare after your game.

Played Roscrea once last year towards the end of the summer and thought it was a very ordinary and forgettable sort of course. Wasn't in the best of conditions at the time but that may have been depending on the wet spell we had over the summer.

That's probably Roscrea, beside the Racket hall hotel.

Played Dromoland the other day and it's in great nick, greens are perfect at the moment. If you want to go somewhere on the Dublin side of Limerick, I'd suggest Nenagh which is a lovely track and always in good condition. Give Roscrea a miss if you can, ordinary enough course and usually fairly wet this time of the year.

The heritage at Killenard is just off the M7 and is a much better track then nenagh..

Never played dromoland though i hear its in good nick

Roscrea is pretty bland, Mountrath is a good track, Dromoland probably the best. Heritage is another good choice also Abbeyleix as well

+1 on the Heritage, played it on web for 35 including soup and sandwich or special of the day. Course is in great shape, buggy was 20 for the round.
