tyres: all weather/winter/summer?

Will have to replace 2 front tyres on a bmw 5 series soon.

Currently they have pirelli p6's on them (the quick fit dude picked them).

I see on eiretyres.com that these are 'summer tyres'...

I also notice that there is only a small range of 'all weather' tyres in comparison.

Are the summer tyres ok for Irish weather? Would have thought the all weather ones would be best for here.

Also, will summer tyres give the best MPG, or does it make any difference?

    Thanks

Standard tyres in Ireland and most countries are Summer (ie Wet) tyres. All Seasons give better results in Mud and Snow, though you need to ensure they have a Snowflake Mark to get any real good of them in winters like recent ones.

Summers, being the hardest compound, will give better MPG but worst traction in cold weather.
