Tomorrow sees the start of the final qualifying round for the World Championships.
Over the weekend expect some twists and turns, some final frame deciders, a lot of heartache and a lot of relief as 32 players chase the 16 spots on offer for the Cruicble.

    The draw is as follows:

    Mark Davis v Rory McLeod
    Joe Perry v Liu Song
    Liang Wenbo v Jamie Burnett
    Mark King v Mike Dunn
    Dominic Dale v Michael Holt
    Martin Gould v Robert Milkins
    Ryan Day v Liu Chuang
    Judd Trump v Dave Gilbert
    Matthew Stevens v Fergal O’Brien
    Marcus Campbell v Matt Selt
    Barry Hawkins v Anthony Hamilton
    Stephen Lee v Steve Davis
    Gerard Greene v Dave Harold
    Stuart Bingham v Alan McManus
    Andrew Higginson v Andrew Pagett
    Ken Doherty v Jimmy Robertson

All matches are again the best of 19 frames played over two sessions.

If the three Chinese players qualify, they will join Ding Junhui and Marco Fu and make it a total of five Chinese players in the first round proper!

Incredible finish to Stevens v O'Brien, 9-9 Fergal 58 ahead with 59 points on the table, Stevens clears to the black, two safety shots each and Stevens pots the black to win.
Fergal must be sick, he had a long red to go 59 ahead with 51 on the table, and missed it by a mile.
Unlucky for Fergal, bur Stevens lost 10-9 at this same stage last year so all credit to him.

Great weekend of snooker so far, Ken back on at 7pm. 6-3 up on Jimmy Robertson and playing well.

Poor Fergal, what a way to lose!!

Ken is having a meltdown, from 6-3 up to 6-9 behind

Yeah hes been at the wrong end of a shellacking but at least it looks like its because of Robertsons inspired play in large part.

Never known Ken to lose a lead like that, Robertson didnt really play anything special, just mistake after mistake by Ken allowed him in, even in the last frame Ken had a great chance to go 9-7 but again let Robertson in for the red he needed.

This will really hurt Ken, has to pick himself up for the China Open in two weeks now, and there i was in another thread bigging him up for a great finish to the season!

Going to have a bit of Dave Harold's match now, a few pints after and home tomorrow.

Steve Davis fairly went out with a whimper 10-2 following last year's run to the quarter finals.

Is this the first year Steve won't be at the Crucible? Since 1979 probably.

Pity for Ken. He would have had the best walk on routine at the Crucible too with the 'Irish Rover'.

As far as i can remember this will be the third time he has'nt qualified, think the others were 2001 and 2002, you can forgive him though as he had qualified for the cruicble over five different decades! A record i think will never be matched.

Mind you he still has his lucrative work as a pundit with the BBC for the Championships as has the other beaten qualifier Ken Doherty.
