    I am in the startup phase and working on the website.

    there is a popular poker site where i have seen people advertise quick paid one off tasks.

    would there be any issues with starting a thread asking people to design a logo for my website regarding intellectual property rights/ownership of the logo? I will transfer a set amount of cash to the poker account of the designer of any logo i like.

    So you want to advertise for a desgner to create a logo for you in a... poker forum, correct?

    Just use 99 designs or logomyway etc

    They are not designers. I have seen great creative work posted from people with a photoshop hobby that would do it for a bargain price that would be far lower than a professional designer.

    If the idea starts to generate income i'll get the professionals in with all the bells and whistles.

    then I'd recommend www.logotournament.com for logo design

    got two logos designed there myself, very happy with both

    Thats perfect, thanks.

    As far as my original idea goes I put up a maths question and there was a lot of hassle so that idea is a non starter.
