Failed kidney transplant, hemodialysis & waiting lists

A friend of mine had a kidney transplant when she was a kid. She's now a young adult and is back on hemodialysis with her donor kidney having failed. She's hoping to be put back on the transplant list (or pool?) within the next month.

Has anyone been in this situation? She's understandably freaked out and isn't getting very much emotional support from her medical team (they tend to speak to her parents or talk over her head). I know the IKA can offer counselling, I've been on to them and they were lovely, but I can't convince her to talk to them. She won't talk about her fears to her parents either for fear of upsetting them. Any tips what to do or say? All she wants to know is will she live long enough to get another kidney, but no one is willing to even listen to her questions, never mind attempt to answer them.
