Jury Duty

So I'm fairly confident I'll be called in the next batch for Jury Duty (my dad was called before Christmas, and now my mam last week). So I work a part-time job which opens 12-10, usually around 15 hours a week (mainly Saturday, Sunday and Monday). Is there a set way of how they go about how many hours I can work after Jury Duty, how many hours I get paid, etc...?

By law they have to.

Its 9-11 they draw names out of a hat, if you get picked you get called up the lawyers can get rid of 5 applicants each or somthing, just wear casual clothes, cap, nikes and anything addidas and theres no chance of you getting on the panel..

Handiest week I ever had 9-11 monday-friday full weeks pay ..

But 9-11 would I have to go into work at like 1 or 2? And since 9-11 wouldn't be my normal hours of work would I get paid?

If you are not employed for the hours you will be on Jury Duty I very much doubt that you would be paid by your employer. Also, if not actually on Jury Duty during your scheduled working hours, I can't see why you would be allowed to stay off work.

Ehh just tell them you were doing jury duty and show the letter, you wont have to give them a breakdown of your time there, if the ask lie.. Do you think they are going to ring the judge to see if you were on the panel

Theres travel time involved and the letter states you are called for jury duty from mon-fri dates etc ..

Just do what Larry David did on Curb Your Enthusiasm. If asked 'do you think that you would be prejudiced towards this defendant?' If the defendant is black, gay, asian, traveller, disabled etc. just say that you would find it hard to be objective as the defendant is <any/all of the above>

Guaranteed to get you off jury duty.
