Motorcheck query

I ran a Motorcheck report today for this car
    http://www.carzone.ie/search/BMW/3-Series/320D-SE-/201034199325699/advert?channel=CARS

I have a few questions. First time running this report so second opinion appreciated.

    https://www.motorcheck.ie/report/08D72525/XEW7V7

    1) Under Owners
No. of owners (Total): 1 (incl current owner)
    No. of owners (Ireland): 0
    No. of owners (UK): 1

    Date(s) of sale (Ireland): 23/08/2010
    22/07/2009

    Date(s) of sale (UK): 18/03/2008

The car was imported to Ireland from England July 2009. Why is the number of owners 1 and not 2 - is this a case of the owner in UK moving to Ireland so the owner has not actually changed or the car was bought from garage as demo model

One other thing, I see the date of sale in Ireland as23/08/2010 so guess it was sitting with garage since then.

    2) Under Odometer Readings
    Previous Readings (Irl & UK):
    27/08/2010 29,270 Mls (47,105 Kms)
    Source: INMR

So no readings from when it was in England. I guess this is normal for new cars imported under 2 years old

Motorcheck frequences this forum from time to time, drop them a pm or ring the number on their site tomorrow. They will be able to elaberate for you.

Open to correction here but the mileage reading on the report is taken from a database where it is recorded at the time of the car's MOT, first MOT on a UK car is when it is 3 years old afaik. Is there a service history with the car, if so get the details of where it was serviced and ring the garages, they will have a record of it and at what mileage it was serviced.

Regarding that car, yes it has been sitting on that forecourt for some time because it was overpriced, yet they were quite happy to let it sit there. While I'd have no problem buying an auto I would not pay a hefty premium over a manual for one.

Here is a nice 320d M Sport, seems a decent price and car looks clean:

Seriously? You'd consider spending that much on a 320?

I'm sure the car motorcheck will scan can be explained but jesus!

Relax on the price. I would not be paying the sticker.

I did have another thread asking about prices but did not get many comments.

I did some benchmarks versus buying direct in UK and importing myself so have a better idea on price now.

Jeebus... Bazz linked a Msport for nearly 4k less. I wouldnt mind but the irish SE is much nicer with chrome around the windows. That one looks like the poverty spec.

I am sure the price is negotiable. Main reason I was interested was because of bluetooth and automatic.

The MSport looks nice but bad reports about Glasnevin Motors here

If you like it then take a look at it and bring a competent independent mechanic with you. This should happen regardless of where you buy your car from and it will help reduce future threads on clocked cars, etc.
