    Hi All,

I've been looking in to doing an Event management Course but there are so many out there, which do I choose??

I already have a degree in PR & Communications but since leaving college in 2008 I have been working as a hotel receptionist so have no real work experience!

    Any suggestions??

I did a year in Event Management and although I enjoyed it the one thing I learned is that experience over education is king in this industry. We had many successful people from the industry come in and talk to us and they all said pretty much the same thing about how to be successful in Event Man.

    1. You have to have a real passion for it.
    2. You have to work your way up from the bottom, meaning volunteer for every and any event going on.

Working for free will give you experience, you will learn by doing, build important contacts and show to "big" people that you are dedicated and there is a good chance someone will hire you when they see you working at different events.

    Something to think about!
