What happens if you're unwell & can't collect an SWA payment?

Hi, I suffer from depression etc (have done so since I was a child) and recently I had my DA stopped, I'm appealing that decision (currently waiting for a decision on the appeal) and while that's being decided upon I'm getting an SWA payment from a local CWO which I need to collect from the post office. My DA was paid into the bank. Anyway, some days I'm absolutely fine, some days I'm ok and some days I'm not very well. What happens if someone cannot get to a post office to collect their SWA payment because they are unwell? We contacted the CWO to be told more or less: tough, if you don't collect or can't collect it's gone, unwell or not unwell. But I don't think that's the case. I mean if someone is too sick to get to the post office to collect their payment it can't simply be gone without any chance to say get it paid the following week or whatever.

It's not that I won't be getting there to collect it, I most likely will as I'm not too bad at the moment but I'm just wondering wondering what actually happens if I or for that matter anyone else with mental health issues simply wasn't able to get to their post office to collect their SWA payment? CWO is simply saying: too bad. Thanks.
