I saw one for sale in Arnotts on Henry St. in Dublin.
It was around the 5 grand mark if I remember correctly. Crazy price.

There are lots of Eames replicas around, and the quality / price differ greatly, depending on where you buy. This Irish company has good quality reproductions, i got an Eileen Grey bibendum chair here and they have the Eames one also:

    Hope this helps!

I bought a table from design classics direct and they were excellent. I'd recommend them. Very helpful.

I bought the chair and ottoman (they're called the Eames Wilder Chair and Ottoman - designed by Charles and Ray Eames for the director Billy Wilder) from a UK company called Bluesuntree - just google it - delivery to Ireland was £65.

It is a replica but my view is this (purists look away now): I have 3 small children and the idea of them climbing over a Euro 5K chair would drive me mental. That is completely aside from the fact that I have a moral objection to spending Euro 5K on a chair.

There are other sites in the UK selling the same chair so look around (back of the Observer magazine on a sunday is a good place to start).

I find it is only comfortable when you use the ottoman (footstool) and the chair. The chair is in a permanent state of recline so the angle on your hips isn't natural without the ottoman. That said, it is very very comfortable (fall asleep comfortable).

If you want the most comfortable modern chair known to man (well, to me anyway) buy an Eero Saarinen Womb Chair - it is amazing. Only comes in fabric though so if you have kids buy some scotchguard.

Looking to see if anyone has experience ordering from vertigo interiors in the UK (http://www.vertigo-interiors.co.uk/)- look like similar stuff, all reproductions but not sure on the quality

    PMs appreciated
